Tour and Travel Policies

If you are interested in making reservations or would like to inquire what dates tours are available to Nicaragua, please use the form above to make your reservation or to make any inquiries. Please be to sure to let us know what tour package you are interested in and when you would like to fly.

To confirm reservations, a deposit of 50% of the total cost of the tour package must be received by Eco Xpedition Tours at booking. Deposits can be made using credit cards safely and securely through Paypal or by wire transfer. Total cost of tour must be received 30 days prior to departure and can be paid by credit card or check using Paypal, or by wire transfer. Reservations for a tour will conclude 30 days prior to departure.

Any cancellations must be made by phone and in writing. If a cancellation occurs within 45 days prior to departure date, additional charges will become payable by the client to the company according to the following sliding scale of percentages of the total price:

Tour costs include all tours and services in the destination country, boat and lodging accommodations, transfers, ground transportation and only meals and activities specifically listed in your itinerary. Accommodations and services listed in the trip itinerary are subject to change, but substitutions will be made of similar or better quality if necessary.

Tour costs do not include airfare to your destination, passport or visa fees, foreign exit taxes, immunizations, alcoholic beverages, laundry, telephone or telegraph charges, excess baggage, gratuities, insurance and any expense of personal nature such as hygienic items, or souvenir and momento shopping.

Prices are based and determined according to the rates at time and may be subject to slight change at the time of booking to take into account rises in accommodation and services. All prices are definitive at time of signing booking agreement.

As part of Eco Xpedition Tours' mission to remain as eco-friendly as possible, it is important to note that we abstain from staying at larger hotels and resorts in favor of small, well-run wildlife lodges and/or ranches. Most of these are equipped with their own private nature reserves often supporting biological research and, because of their small size, having minimal impact on their environments.

While the vast majority of our tours operate satisfactorily, because of the undeveloped nature of most of our destinations in Nicaragua, minor mishaps can and do occur. All travelers should be aware that, although we use trusted local representatives and have done everything in our power to ensure itineraries run smoothly, various factors can conspire to cause disruption of said itineraries. Should any mishaps occur, please be assured that our representatives shall do the utmost to rectify any adverse situations wherever possible.

When traveling with Eco Xpedition Tours you can expect a criterion of excellence in quality of service. Eco Xpedition Tours and Nicaragua Travel Adventures act only as agents between the traveler and all providers, whether it be horseback, microbus, bus, boat or airplane and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may occur during a scheduled tour. Eco Xpedition Tours and Nicaragua Travel Adventures can not assume any responsibility or loss or additional expenses due to changes in schedules or other causes beyond our control such as weather, natural disasters, war, and threat of war, hostilities, riots, civil commotion, strikes, religious activities or airport closures. We reserve the right to accept or refuse any person as a member of any tour or to change or withdraw a tour as circumstances deem necessary.

Eco Xpedition Tours reserves the right to cancel all or a portion of a trip due to force majeure or any other circumstances beyond our control, and, in the event of such cancellation, full or partial refunds, if any, will be at Eco Xpedition Tours sole discretion. We also reserve the right to cancel any trip if sign-up is inadequate to make the trip economically feasible for us to operate, and in this event, we will give a full refund of the trip price. However, Eco Xpedition Tours is not responsible for additional expenses incurred by you in preparing for the trip (e.g., nonrefundable air tickets, visa fees if applicable, gear or medical expenses).

Eco Xpedition Tours does not give any refunds for unused hotel rooms, meals, sightseeing trips or trek arrangements. Trip price is quoted as a package; credits are not given for services not used.

All tours to Nicaragua are conducted with a minimum number of 4 participants. If this minimum is not met 30 days prior to departure, Eco Xpedition Tours will give a full refund to those who did book. If we sign up enough participants to run a trip, but unexpected cancellations drop the number of participants below the required minimum, we will run the trip at an additional charge of $250 per person. If additional participants join and the required number of participants is re-attained, the surcharge will be refunded.

After reciept of your deposit or full payment, we will send you a confirmation packet with additional details about your trip, a packing list, and a Tour Application/Release of Liability Form that you must sign and return within 30 days of booking.
